Forward Friday

What a great Friday! I hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend. Some things new coming up this week are: 

Reading: identifying the main idea 

Writing: conclusions in expository writing 

Math: graphing 

Science: moon phases 

Social studies: researching inventors 

Don't forget the 100th day. Thank you for all the donations on the sign up. I would appreciate receiving them Monday to have time to prepare! 

Also, keep working on those 100th day shirts!

No Work, All Play #1

We will be having a little quiz tomorrow over coins we have learned in class, especially quarters.

Turn your kitchen into a restaurant tonight for our friend and have them Flip the Bill. 

After they have "ordered" dinner and had their fill create a fake "check" up to $1.

Have them draw out the coins needed to pay their bill, with the amount, cent symbol, and "hairs" necessary for each coin. Our friend will need to count out loud for you and if they get the answer right tell them dessert is "on the house" for a tasty reward!

Send a completed bill with a signature in our Daily Folder and our friend will receive 2 Dojo Points!

Tutorials

Just some clarification on the tutorials:

I have had a few questions on the tutorial schedule and I apologize for not making it as clear as I should.

Tutorials are for all of my friends and for all subjects.

They will be held Monday through Thursday, because hey now, everyone needs a brain break right?

They are held from dismissal to 3:30pm.

You will be responsible for your child's transportation home.

If your child would like to attend these tutorials please fill out the form sent home in this week's Tuesday folder. If lost, no worries, please just let me know who will be picking them up and a contact number.

If you are not sure the subject area they need to focus on I will place based on my observations in class.

I will be stapling in a system of sorts (it's in the works) for you to let me know what days that week they will be attending. If its just Wednesday or Thursday or all days, no matter, anything that works for you!

100th Day!

As you are aware by now we are celebrating our 100th day of school on Tuesday, February 2nd!

We will be utilizing many goodies with the kids and I would love your support.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to our very first blog post as Ms. Davis's Class!

I am so excited to finally launch what I hope will be an easy, open, and most of all fun way to communicate with my friend's parents, grandparents, or special someones.

Let's get to it.

Some things I will be posting on this blog will be:

-things we are learning in class and maybe some anchor charts we have created as a group. This way you can study and maybe do some pop quizzes at home.
-updates and reminders on upcoming parties, tests, field trips, or tutorial changes
-fun activities to practice what we are learning in class
-and much, much more!
